There second of the two handicap chases on the card also produced a shock winner as Better B Quick stayed on best on the run-in to land the three-mile one-furlong contest. Cantkidakidder looked to be travelling best in the lead turning for home having been to the fore throughout.
He was chased through at the second last by Better B Quick, however, and JJ Slevin got a good tune from his mount on the run-in to wear down that rival and secure a length victory.
The winner had been point-to-point for the past few seasons and trainer Richard O'Keeffe, better known as a point-to-point handler, was recording his first win on the racecourse since July 2007:-
"He did it well. The ground was too soft for him on his last couple of runs, so we said we'd keep him for a chase on the track.
“He loves that ground, that's his ground. There is plenty of life in him and hopefully we can find something similar for him now.
“I'm based out the road in Taghmon and I had Kilbricken Storm who won the Albert Bartlett and I bred Finian's Oscar too."
