I’ll Be That Lady ran out a convincing winner of the Tipperary Racecourse Handicap Chase, completing a quick double for Philip Enright.
Without a win in her previous fifteen starts, the daughter of Mahler went down by just half-a-length when returning from over a year long break at Fairyhouse last month.
Well-fancied this evening, the seven-year-old was sent off a 5/1 chance in the colours of the aptly named The Wait Is Over Partnership.
Having raced mainly in second, the bay victor was sent to the front after two out and she quickly went clear, coming home seven-and-a-half lengths to the good for trainer Brian McMahon.
The front-running Jack Holiday (15/2) finished second under Ray Barron for John Glesson, while Mist On The Bog (12s to 15/2) was half-a-length away in third.
Tramore winner Clody Valley was sent off the 16/5 favourite and he finished fourth.
"She has been a bit unlucky and got chinned twice. The last day in Fairyhouse she was chinned in the shadows of the post and isn't winning out of turn,” McMahon said.
"We will keep going for the summer, she handles a bit of nicer ground - she is a Mahler out of a Flemensfirth mare.
"Credit to John Staunton (point to point handler) as the lads she didn't but I thought it was further she wanted. John said to drop her back to two miles and she has won well.
"I have plenty to run for the summer and I'm in Downpatrick tomorrow and Cork the following day."
STEWARDS REPORTS
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Full Noise, trained by Ronan M.P. McNally, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have a wound to its right fore tendon.
P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Spare Brakes trained by V.C.Ward, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made an abnormal respiratory noise in running.
