County Waterford trainer John Queally has been enjoying a good run of success with the likes of Djingle and Carlisle bumper winner Arcadian Sunrise, and his Sacchoandvanzetti (13/2) added to the stable’s gains when landing the Nally Bros. Supporting Longford GAA 3-y-o Hurdle.
Having been held up early, he made headway into a challenging position turning in and led before the last.
The 9/4 favourite Pasley (novicey with his jumping) looked a big threat on his outside at that point but Jody McGarvey’s mount found more on the run-in to win by a length and three quarters. Tremwedge ran a big race on his hurdling debut to finish third at 40/1, another three and a half lengths away.
The winner was placed five times from twelve starts on the Flat for Jim Bolger, including over 6f at Naas in July, but has thrived for going over hurdles, finishing a promising fifth at Listowel before winning his maiden hurdle at Galway.
He’s a home-bred for the Ryan family, by Finsceal Fior who is a son of Galileo and their crack racemare Finsceal Beo.
“He’s professional and it’s nice to win two before the good ones come out, said winning trainer John Queally.
"We might go to Doncaster next month (Grade 2 Summit Juvenile Hurdle on December 14).
“He doesn’t mind cut in the ground. There is not a lot of him in it but he has heart.”
