The Tony Martin-trained Draco Pulchrac made the breakthrough in good style when taking the concluding ten furlong handicap at Dundalk this evening.

The Newtown Anner-owned filly had been placed on three previous occasions, including when third at Navan on her last outing.

She travelled well into contention in the straight tonight, for Ben Coen, and the 6/1 shot went on a furlong out to record a two-and-a-half length win.

“She was due that. She's been knocking on the door but things just haven't gone her way,” said Martin.

“It's great to get a bracket into her for the man that owns her.

“She ran well at Navan last time but things just didn't suit, it wasn't anyone's fault.”

It was a birthday winner for Ben Coen, who turned 21 today.
