By Galileo out of Alpha Centauri Saturn was clearly bred to be better than an 80-rated performer, but the grey is going the right way and today completed a double for Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley in the Leopardstown Golf And Driving Range Handicap.
The well-backed 9/4 favourite added to the earlier Commonstown gains with Bold Discovery at Group Three level.
Willie Mullins was at the Foxrock venue and was chasing a second winner of the session there. His Ethical Diamond was edged out by a nose by Saturn, much to the delight of Mrs Harrington's daughter Kate.
She said: "We're delighted with that. He did things really nicely there and that's his minimum trip.
“We'll step him up to a mile-and-a-half and hopefully he can keep progressing.”
