Profound Beauty justified her price (4/11) when winning the ITM/Springpaarden Fonds Nederland Ballyroan Group 3 Stakes for the second year running.
Smullen who made all aboard the favourite was clear turning in and kept on strongly inside the final furlong to hold off the efforts of Akzar by three lengths.
Winning trainer Dermot Weld said afterwards: “She did what we expected her to do, she’s a very high class filly.”
“We’ll see how she comes out of the race before we make any decisions. Her main options are the Yorkshires Oaks and the Irish St Leger.”
