The Philip Rothwell-trained Prince Quattro produced a fine front-running performance to open his account in the first divison of the 80-95 handicap hurdle at Limerick.

Tiernan Power Roche had his mount to the fore throughout in the two-miler. The 6/1 shot was tackled by 10/3 favourite Inchiquin Maid turning for home but asserted before the final flight.

The Notnowcato gelding stayed on well in the closing stages to post a two-and-a-half length success.

Prince Quattro was making his first start since late July, having been placed at Cork earlier that month.

The winning rider said afterwards:- "It would have suited him better if the ground hadn't changed as he is better on nicer ground but he was good and gutsy. He put in a brilliant round of jumping and that is what won it for him."

It was the fourth winner in the past nine days for the trainer and jockey combination.
