Presenting Percy impresses Flanagan Sweet-travelling Presenting Percy outgunned odds on favourite Canelie by a couple of lengths in Galway's two mile maiden hurdle. The son of Sir Percy loomed large on the outside of Ceide Fields after the second last with Canelie trying to tack on to the pair in third. Ceide Fields was soon ridden by Luke Dempsey and Mark Walsh got lower in the saddle on board Canelie in third on the wide outside. Sean Flanagan was still motionless on Presenting Percy in the middle though. The three horses came to the last in unison but it was Presenting Percy (9/4) who found most. He was driven out to beat the 8/11 favourite Canelie who was making her Irish debut after winning her last four French bumpers. Ceide Fields (7/1) was half a length further back in third. Sean Flanagan said: "My biggest job was getting him to drop the bit but he was very straightforward when he got there. He's not exactly keen but leans on the bit. "He jumped absolutely brilliant and will improve in a better race." Trainer Pat Kelly added: "His first run over hurdles in September was all new to him and he settled more today."
