Precautionary inspection at Fairyhouse There will be an 8am precautionary inspection at Fairyhouse ahead of tomorrow's meeting. Officials have decided to call an inspection following persistent rain today and the threat of further rain at the Co. Meath venue. The going was heavy at Fairyhouse today for the Boylesports Irish Grand National, with just eight of the 30 runners completing the 3m5f stamina test which was won by the Gordon Elliott-trained General Principle.. However officials are very hopeful that the third and final day of the Easter Festival meeting will go ahead tomorrow. The feature race will be the €100,000 RYBO Handicap Hurdle. Today's attendance at Fairyhouse was 10,722, down about 1,700 on the corresponding day last year. Fairyhouse Manager Peter Roe said, "We are absolutely delighted considering the very inclement weather conditions. It was a very exciting days racing, and hopefully we will complete our three-day Easter Festival meeting tomorrow."
