Owned and trained by Kilworth Co Cork-based Desmond Kenneally, 4/5 favourite Pray Tell was a ready winner of the Adare Manor Opportunity Maiden Hurdle in the hands of John Shinnick.
The Ask gelding had placed form at up to three miles and, once Shinnick let him stride on from three out in this 2m3f contest, he stayed on well to account for Half Montlioux by 15 lengths.
"He had good form. I was worried about the trip, I dropped him back a lot, but I said I'd take a chance," said Kenneally.
"He won well, he's a lovely horse. We might go for another hurdle, we'll see how he comes out of this. “
"He got boxed in at Galway and Phillip (Enright) said to me that the next day he'd take beating. He was happy with him.
"It was maybe a big quick for him in Galway, he's not the fastest horse. I'm just so happy he won this evening.
"He's a three-miler really. I was worried about the going but Johnny said he went away well and he was happy enough."
