Third on his previous three visits to Dundalk including in a 7f claimer on Wednesday, the 2/1 favourite Collective Power got off the mark at the twelfth time of asking in the BetVictor Proud To Support Irish Racing Maiden.

Down to the minimum distance on this occasion, the chestnut came from off the pace and made the most of a nice gap that appeared in front of him just outside the furlong marker. Ben Coen drove the winner through it and he led 100 yards out before going on to account for Cheval Blanc (8/1)and Two Metres Apart (22/1) by three quarters of a length and the same.

Winning trainer Eddie Lynam said: “He’s a homebred but is nothing like his mother or father who I both trained.

“It’s very unusual to win a maiden off a handicap rating of 62 but he’s a winner and it’s great to get a winner in those colours.

“He’ll probably come back here in a few weeks.”
