Pottersville stretched clear in the closing stages to make an impressive winning debut for Richard O’Keeffe in the concluding bumper at Clonmel this evening.

The Ocovango mare went to post a 14/1 shot on her racecourse bow and travelled well to hit the front turning for home in the race, run over just shy of two-and-a-half miles.

Conor Moore, riding his first winner 'on the track', asked his mount for an effort a furlong-and-a-half from home and she soon asserted to record a comprehensive eight-length win over Astley

Moore said afterwards:- “I’ve had 13 point-to-point winners and that’s my first on the track. I wouldn’t be on the track too often.

“The plan was to go point-to-pointing with her, but she ran in a schooling bumper at Monksgrange three weeks ago with some of Henry de Bromhead’s Aintree horses and we decided to take our chance in a bumper.

“I ride out for Johnny and Mikey Fogarty in the mornings and have eight on the go at home as well.”

Pottersville is a half-sister to three-time hurdle winner Scarpia.
