Flooring Porter (8s into 7/1 on track, 10s available in the offices) readily landed the opening Lougher Stables Maiden Hurdle in the hands of Jonathan Moore.
The four-year-old Yeats gelding led after three out, and went clear on the run-in to defeat the staying-on Ashton Court (5/1) and Storm Flight (25/1) by seven lengths and a short head.
The 4/1 joint favourites Elegant Dan and Shantou Bay came in fourth and fifth respectively.
The winner was a fourth winner in the last three weeks for Moore, with another two of those having been for winning trainer Gavin Cromwell aboard the very progressive Darver Star.
“He was one of the highest rated in the field so he was entitled to make the frame anyway,” said Cromwell.
“I thought they went very hard. He was last going past with a circuit to run and he was struggling to lie up.
“It just kind of fell his way as they went too hard and he outstayed them.
“They weren't a great bunch so we won't be getting too excited but it's great to win.”
