Plough Boy claims another narrow win The Garvan Donnelly trained Plough Boy followed up a recent Tipperary win in the Magners Irish Handicap at Down Royal today, scoring a fifth career win. Ridden by Robbie Downey, the son of Dandy Man had in his previous four wins, been involved in a dead-heat, short head and neck wins and today arrived in the nick of time for another short-head win over Octavia. Afterwards Donnelly, who took over the training of the gelding this year, stated "you need to leave it as late as possible as he doesn't do a lot in front but he is very genuine. "He needs a fast run seven furlongs and while drawn 14, I didn't mind as he got cover. "He's in Galway on the Wednesday over a mile and probably will run under a penalty." "I'm delighted for John Duffy who is a neighbour of mine." By Tom Weekes, quotes from Michael Graham
