The Padraig Roche-trained Demi Plie sprang a 25/1 shock on her return to action at Bellewstown this afternoon.
Carrying first time cheek-pieces the Mastercraftsman filly went to post a 25/1 shot for the two-mile handicap hurdle.
She chased the leaders throughout before Jody McGarvey sent his mount up to challenge going to the second last.
Demi Plie stayed on best to hit the front on the run-in and score by two-lengths. I'm Serious denied his stable-mate Nulife by a half length for the runner-up spot.
“We always thought she had the ability to win one but she has her own ideas sometimes and the cheek-pieces seemed to work,” said Roche.
“It's great to get a win out of her as she's a well-bred filly.
“We'll find something similar now, that's her level. She's just getting away with that ground and probably wants a bit more of a dig in it.
“We'll run away with her and try and win as much as we can with her.”
