Layfayette availed of a drop in class to win in Listed company at Limerick, but plans to run in the Group 3 Paddy Power International Stakes at the Curragh next weekend are fluid following a bereavement in the owner's family.

Reflecting on Layfayette's snug three-parts of a length success in the Tally Ho Irish EBF Martin Molony Stakes on Friday evening, Noel Meade said yesterday: "Just a drop in class made a difference to him and he (Seamie Heffernan) gave him a lovely ride. He told me the day before 'this is a cakewalk' and he was right!

"We'll see (about the Group 3 in the Curragh on Saturday). Unfortunately, Patricia's (Hunt, owner) husband Paul died yesterday so I am not sure what will happen. We have to wait and see how the week progresses.

"It is a possibility he might (run), I'd say."

Layfayette had been mixing in Group 1 and Group 2 company and was runner-up in the Group 2 Mooresbridge Stakes at Headquarters in May.

He was jockey Heffernan's first winner for Meade since 2011.

Sincere condolences to the Hunt family from the staff at irishracing.com.
