Pier Pressure lands the odds for Lyons & Kearney Pier Pressure justified strong market support when landing odds of 4/5 in the Gateway Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Maiden. The Ger Lyons-trained son of Kingman filled the runner-up spot on his only juvenile start in a Naas maiden but has been quite lightly raced since. Jack Kearney’s mount made headway towards the far side under two furlongs out and, despite edging right, kept on well inside the final 150 yards to beat Local Girl by half-a-length. Shanadar finished a further length and a half back in third. Lyons' brother and assistant Shane said, "He's a lightly-raced horse that is only learning his job. He'll improve for the experience, he's very immature. He'll improve immensely for it. "He likes the surface, so we will campaign him in the next seven-furlong race he is eligible for. He'll be a good summer horse. "This fella has an engine and he is by Kingman and you can't go wrong with that. When he really matures, he will be a nice horse for next summer."
