Noel Meade, who is in hospital at the moment, got a great boost when Roll Over Rover came home in front in the Great Value Dining Packages Handicap under Declan McDonogh, in the familiar colours of Liam Queally.
Winning jockey McDonogh carried two pounds overweight but it didn’t seem to affect the winner as the pair kept on well to hold off the Jim Culloty trained Shela House by a head.
Ben Meade brother of the winning trainer said afterwards, “Noel is doing well, he is looking forward to coming home tomorrow and getting back into the swing of things.
"He had an infection in his spine but the antibiotics seemed to have done the trick and this winner will certainly cheer him up.”
