Penny follows-up on Curragh success Mademoiselle Penny followed-up on her win at the Curragh on Tuesday as she took the last at Dundalk, division two of the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Handicap. The Pat Flynn trained three-year-old recorded her first win at Tramore in August before disappointing at Wexford on her next start. She bounced back to form to win at the Curragh on Tuesday and she was sent off the 7/2 favourite this evening in the colours of Bill Foley. Settled in second by Danny Grant she hit the front over two furlongs out. She was ridden with over a furlong to race and she kept on well from there, going on to score by a length and a half. Temasek Star (10/3) kept on down the outer to finish second under Shane Foley for Mick Halford, while Excelli (20/1) was a short head back in third under Fran Berry for Aidan Howard. Danny Grant said afterwards: "I thought she'd win in the Curragh. I rode her when I came back the other morning and thought she was flying so I told Pat to go again with her." "She idled a bit in front but when they came to her she went away again. That's probably her preferred trip, she has gears and travels well." Additional reporting by Gary Carson
