Gordon Elliott sent out the first and second in the Joe Cooney Memorial Hurdle at Kilbeggan as Westland Row (7/2) accounted for Tombstone (5/1).
Denis O’Regan looked confident from some way out on the course winning beginners chase victor.
Westland Row took over at the last to account for Tombstone by three and a quarter lengths. Conrad Hastings (9/4 into 13/8 favourite) was a disappointment, finishing fifth of the six.
"He got a bit of confidence through the race, he was jumping hurdles like fences early on and it took him a while to come down a bit," reported O'Regan.
"Once he passed one he passed three and he seemed to do it snug enough. They went a good gallop and the trainer gets a lot of credit for getting his confidence and it was a good bit of placing."
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Conrad Hastings, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
