Old McDonald has a future Old McDonald (12s into 8s) provided Noel Glynn with a welcome success when convincingly landing the opening I.N.H. Stallion Owners European Breeders Fund Maiden Hurdle at Naas under Robbie Power. The Clare trainer, without a win since Gonebeyondrecall scored at Listowel back in September, was done proud by the effort of Paddy Power Chase runner-up Becauseicouldntsee, his last runner, and he has one to look forward to in Old McDonald who accounted for Jetson by four and a half lengths. A jubilant Glynn asked the press afterwards: "Have you got your check-books with yee? "I've been saying for two years that he's the best I've ever had. He did that in some style even though he'd be way better on better ground. "Robbie said to go over three miles now as he stays forever but he has a bit of toe as well and the Deloitte (Grade 1 Novice Hurdle over two and a quarter miles at Leopardstown on February 6th) is an option for him. "We got as far as the Shannon last Sunday (he was an intended runner at Leopardstown) but we had to turn back." Sean Graham go 20/1 Old McDonald for the Neptune Novice Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
