OGDEN TAKES SHARE IN BUSINESS

John Keighley, part-owner of See More Business who is favourite to retain his Tote Cheltenham Gold Cup crown in March, has sold his share in the gelding to Robert Ogden.

Keighley together with Paul Barber has witnessed the ups of seeing See More Business land two Pertemps King George VI Chases (1997 & 1999) at Kempton and last season's emotional Gold Cup triumph, together with the downs of witnessing the 10-year-old be carried out in the 1998 Gold Cup and pulled up in the King George later that year.

However, a reduction of his business interests will also result in a winding down of his involvement in racing later in the year.

Keighley said on Tuesday: "It is my intention to retire from business in the near future and as a consequence I had planned to reduce my involvement in racehorse ownership at the end of the current National Hunt season.

"An offer for See More Business came out of the blue and was totally unsolicited.

"I discussed the offer with Paul Barber and Paul Nicholls. Following our discussion and in the light of my plans I decided to sell my share to Robert Ogden whom Paul Barber and I know very well.

"Paul Barber and I have shared many horses over the years and I wish him and Robert continued success with See More Business.

"I have every intention of maintaining a keen interest in National Hunt and Point-to-Point racing, but at a more modest level than in the past."

Barry Simpson, racing manager to Ogden, said: "Robert Ogden, John Keighley and Paul Barber hold a good friendship that has developed since Mr Ogden sent horses to be trained by Paul Nicholls.

"Robert Ogden was approached and is delighted to become involved in such a good horse.

"This partnership brings together two sportsmen who have a thorough understanding and passion towards National Hunt racing.

"This also secures the home of See More Business at Manor Farm stables in the foreseeable future."
