O'Briens complete Navan treble Champion Trainer Aidan O'Brien and dual Champion Jockey son Joseph O'Brien combined for a treble at Navan today, completing the feat with regally bred and eye-wateringly expensive purchase Prospector in the concluding Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Maiden. The pair were earlier successful with maiden winners Giant Redwood and Cook Islands and completed the hat-trick as 5/1 shot Prospector improved from his debut at Roscommon and quickening up inside the final furlong to beat 5/2 favourite Mr Caffrey. Afterwards Joseph O'Brien stated "he was very green first time up and hopefully he can improve and progress with racing." Propsector is a half-brother to Irish 2,000 Guineas winner Mastercraftsman, cost 1.4 million US dollars as a yearling. By Tom Weekes, quotes from Alan Magee
