The layers got the favourite (Ballychorus, 3rd) beaten in the concluding Goffs Invitational Sale Mares Pro/Am Flat Race at Punchestown but plenty of Irish punters will have signed off for 2013 on a winning note as 4/1 chance Kilnockin Lady scored under Jane Mangan.
In the John Hosford colours, carried to many successes by Sheebadiva a few years ago, Mangan got a good response from the front-running Flemensfirth mare in the straight to see off Miss Mardan by a length and three parts.
Terence O'Brien handles the former Bartlemy point-to-point scorer and he said: "We won the last flat race of the year with Ballyadam Brook and it's nice to win the last National Hunt race now as well.
"She's had problems behind – with her off-hind and she's just come right now. "Jane said she's still a bit hard to turn but she saw it out well.
"She's a big scopey mare and she'll go over hurdles now. She could be good."
Mr P.J. Cosgrave, rider of Diamond Reign trained by J.G.Cosgrave, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped in the early stages of this race.
S.J. Crimin, rider of Here To Win trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his saddle slipped at about the half way stage of this race.
