O'Brien doubles up with San Andreas San Andreas returned home from a placed effort in Doha last month to readily take the honours in the small field mile race in Dundalk. He had a worrying moment leaving the stalls but soon got back on an even keel. Stablemates Casanova and Bowerman raced one and two throughout with San Andrea in close attendance in third of the five runners. San Andreas travelled well upsides Casanova in the straight and hit the front in the final two furlongs. He was pushed along by Jake Coen in the final furlong to keep the revs up as he scored by a snug length and three quarters from Casanova who took a walk in the market from 11/4 to 9/2. San Andreas gave Joseph O'Brien a double as he also landed race four with Dances With Stars. “He nearly came out too quick tonight, Jake said he was just dipping at the time and luckily the stalls opened,” said assistant trainer Brendan Powell. “For some reason he's just got like that, he's just got a bit panicky in there for some reason. He was very good in Doha last time. “On all known form and on ratings he deserves to win that and he did. What a star he is for the guys that own him, he's done it again there nicely. “We know he handles the grass and he looks fantastic so we'll just keep tipping away with him. He runs his race the whole time. “The last time if he had jumped out with them he'd have gone close. He ran a great race in Doha and picked up some good money and did the same tonight.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
