Ross O'Sullivan has made a sound start to his training career and his He's Our Man secured a third winner for the former amateur rider when winning the Charleville Cheese Beginners Chase at Limerick today.
Ridden by Andrew McNamara, the son of Statue Of Liberty was quickly away and made all, eventually shaking off the challenge of Dul Ar An Ol from the last for a length and a half win.
Afterwards O'Sullivan said “it was a funny sort of race. There was no pace and Andrew had to do all the donkey-work in front although he (He's Our Man) would have been much better off with a lead.
“I was worried about the ground as he is better on a better surface and will be kept going for the summer. He is a 'summer novice' until October and will go for something like a novice winners' race next and hopefully will take in the Galway Festival later in the summer. He's rated 125 over hurdles and could go back for a handicap hurdle at some stage too."
He added “I've had ten point-to-point winners but it's great to have a horse like He's Our Man who has given me each of my three racecourse winners and, hopefully, is one to help get me going.”
