Arcadian Sunrise rsquo;s pre-race drift (3/1 out to 9/2) gave no indication of what was to come as John Queally’s charge ran out an impressive winner of the Horse & Jockey Maiden at Thurles. It was rider Denis O’Regan’s first winner on the Flat in Ireland. Ilmig ran well on debut but he couldn’t lay a glove on Arcadian Sunrise, who led, before being joined three furlongs out.
The winner had a narrow lead again a furlong and a half out, and pushed out to assert inside the final furlong he went on to easily score by three and three parts of a length.
"He got bogged down a bit at Listowel and he goes hurdling now,” said Queally.
"He could be a type for some of the big handicaps in the spring and 2m4f will be his trip for now."
O’Regan had a couple of successes on the level in the past at Hamilton and Epsom.
