Denis O'Regan certainly got his just desserts when guiding Lasoscar to success in the McSweeney Arms Hotel Handicap Hurdle at Killarney.
Thirty five minutes earlier in the preceding novice hurdle O'Regan was on terms with every chance when getting a heavy fall off Wonderoftheworld at the final hurdle.
On Liam Cusack's Lasoscar O'Regan was typically patient and in the end the ten-year-old Oscar gelding defeated the staying on Mine Now by three parts of a length.
"We were hoping he'd get prize-money from a light weight and he had a good run at Sligo the last day. He got caught once or twice then but finished off very well and probably the further distance today stood to him," said Cusack.
"He's very game and it was a nice pot to win today and he'll probably go over fences now."
