O'Mara off cold list as Lordan doubles-up Thomond O'Mara got a welcome turn when Denis Of Kerry supplied Wayne Lordan with a Dundalk double (won the first on Khyber Pass) as first-time blinkers saw the seven-year-old break his duck on outing number eighteen in the first division of the Winter Racing At Dundalk Handicap. Lordan secured the over 70/1 brace by getting the victorious Street Cry gelding to the front in the final hundred yards and he kept on well to beat the front-runner, Massabini (Joseph O'Brien got a 3 day ban for using his whip with excessive force - regulation 10.3(f)) by a length and three parts. The strong favourite, Buccaneer Bob had every chance but he ultimately had to settle for third. Ben Curtis (got a severe caution) didn't weigh-in after partnering the fifth home, Well Insured, and that one was disqualified. After greeting his first winner since late August 2011, O'Mara (sold recent winner, Billy Twyford out of the 'points') quipped: "I needed a sat-nav to find the winners enclosure! It's my first winner in Dundalk too. "He had bits of form going back that gave him a chance. He'll come back here for another one of those." (AM & EM)
