Jessica O'Gorman partnered a welcome winner aboard 12/1 shot Bungle Inthedesert in the Group Deals Available Apprentice Handicap at Dundalk.

The duo tracked the leaders and improved into second in the straight. They went on over a furlong out and came home by a length and a-half from Saxon Kingdom (7/2). Even-money-favourite Harry The Rogue was another two and a-quarter lengths back in third.

O'Gorman said: "He ran well, a very nice horse, and I'm delighted to get a winner for John because he is very good to me. Thanks to him and all the connections.

"I had about a year out. I'm only back going now, so it is good to get one on the board and hopefully we can keep going.

"John (McConnell) said he thought he had a nice chance, ride the race as I find it and try to come home as well as I can. He's very easy to ride for, so it is good.

"I don't ride out for John, but I'm sure I'll give him a day a week here and there when I can. I'm in with Eddie and Patrick Harty and getting on great there, they are very good people.

"I was in Kevin Prendergast's for a good while, served my time there and learned everything."
