Pat O'Donnell has shelved Royal Ascot plans for Extensio due to a setback, however, the Ebor is now on the agenda.

The eight-year-old gelding was last seen bringing up his hat-trick in a handicap hurdle at Tipperary in October which followed on from victories in a rated race at Fairyhouse and a valuable stayers' handicap at York.

O'Donnell: "We had hoped to run him in Royal Ascot but that is out, as he had a slight setback. It wasn't anything significant and was a minor ailment, but was enough to rule that out and it would be too tight to make it.

"He is back cantering again and the new long-term plan is the Ebor at York. The race didn't fill last year for the first time in a long, long time so he should be very low in the weights.

"We'll work back from the Ebor and Sylvia (daughter) will be very high in the equation as well. She will ride him a couple of times in the early part of the season in some of those conditions races."
