Multiple Champion Point To Point Jockey Derek O'Connor achieved another record milestone today, riding his 800th winner 'between the flags' at Kilsale today.
O'Connor, who overcame injury earlier in the season to retain his title again this season, partnered his landmark winner in the Mares' Winners Of One contest at the Co Cork venue, steering the Robert Tyner trained Takemetotheisland to a comfortable win.
In typical O'Connor style, the winner was patiently ridden in last, made headway from four out before improving to lead after the second last, eventually recording a six lengths win over Rua Nua.
The point to point season ends on Tuesday at Ballingarry.
