Chicago opened his account with the minimum of fuss in the mile maiden at Cork.
Joseph O'Brien, fresh from a double at Chester, made the rush home worthwhile as he partnered the 2/11 favourite to an easy success.
The Montjeu colt travelled stylishly into the lead at the two furlong pole and quickened away in great style in the closing stages.
The Ballydoyle hotpot strode clear inside the final furlong to record a comprehensive six-length success over 20/1 shot Cebuano
"He was entitled to win well as it was an ordinary race. He won like his price suggested," said O'Brien junior afterwards.
