The O'Briens set punters a real puzzle in the Crowne Plaza Race & Stay Maiden at Dundalk this evening where the famous family are responsible by four of the five runners.
Aidan O'Brien runs three Galileo colts in the race, headed by last October's course third-placed El Greco but the Champion Trainer's sons, trainer Joseph and jockey Donnacha combine with Drapers Guild which finished second on his previous course effort last month. Indianapolis and Liscannor Bay makes their debuts for O'Brien senior in the race and while both are by Galileo and are almost certain to win races in time, they may also improve from these debut runs.
Ger Lyons' Treble Cone completes the field having finished fifth in a mile maiden here last month but could now improve in first-time blinkers with the added two furlongs another possible plus.
The concluding Hen & Stag Packages At Dundalk Handicap sees Highly Approved attempt a four-timer of wins for her new trainer Shane Duffy. Duffy claimed the three year old filly following her ten lengths route on March 12 and the 10,000-euro investment could prove money well spent with the filly likely to prove competitive again, despite an 11lb weight hike.
Another horse more recently claimed was Seanie who lines up in the seven furlongs LMFM Family Fun Day Sunday May 6th Handicap having been claimed by owner Gary Ryan for 8,000 euros following his win at the track on April 11.
That was over six furlongs but each of his previous six wins have been at today's trip and he has his chance as his handicap mark of 68 has been left unchanged.
