Golden Nugget put his Roscommon run behind him when winning the Costello McDermott Handicap for trainer Flan Costello.
Seamie Heffernan came with his run on the inside rail entering the straight and the Intikab gelding stayed on well on the run to lead close home and deny One For Joules by three parts of a length.
Winning trainer Costello said afterwards: “It’s good to win here this evening even if it is a bad race.”
“He won a very bad maiden at Sligo and we were just trying to pick up something similar for him.”
“He is very good around those bends and seems to the like the sharp tracks. We have no immediate plans for him.”
