Derek O'Connor continued his excellent form in the concluding Private Dining At Breaffy INH Flat Race teaming up with Adrian Murray to guide home Billy's Angel a convincing victor.
This Vertical Speed gelding had shown a nice bit of promise on his two previous starts and here he benefited from a typically patient and assured ride from the record breaking point-to-point jockey.
Backed from around 9/1 earlier into a returned 'fives,' Billy's Angel moved up around the outer from before the end of the back straight.
He had plenty of running left in him then after coming through from off the pace, putting his seal on things from over a furlong out for a two and three parts and three parts of a length win over Sudden Destination and Winter Time
Both the second and third may have been outsiders but they certainly didn't go unbacked at 12/1 and 20/1 respectively.
"After talking to Derek we might go for a winners race with him," disclosed Murray.
"He's a summer horse, he wants good ground. We bought this fellow at the sales last August twelve months. He always showed plenty of potential and he has done the business today."
