As was the case at Galway earlier in the summer, it was a very different kind of Harvest Festival this year and the curtain came down on Listowel 2020 when 6/4 favourite Weseekhimhere was an impressive winner of the Brendan Daly Memorial (Pro/Am) INH Flat Race.
Gordon Elliott ’s Elusive Pimpernel gelding had won by 11 lengths at Galway in July, and this victory was similarly comfortable as he readily drew clear from over a furlong out to beat Camp David (4/1) by nine lengths.
Winning rider Jamie Codd said: "He had two quick runs at Roscommon where it went all wrong and then won very well at Galway and Gordon freshened him up and gave him a small break.
"At Galway the ground was a little on the slow side and he handled that and he handled it brilliantly there.
"He was well bought by Bobby O'Ryan and he is a smart horse.
"He is a nice horse to go jumping and I don't know what they will do. He is only four so they might keep him for bumpers on the back of that or go over hurdles, but you couldn't rule anything out after that performance."
