No Memory hits the headlines again No Memory came with a swooping run turning for home to claim the first division of the 45-65 handicap over just shy of a mile-and-a-half at Galway. It was a double on the card Nathan Crosse following his earlier success on Mister Wilson in the nursery. The Liam O'Brien-trained mare was held up in the early stages before making up ground 'in the dip'. The Westerner mare led entering the straight and kept on well to score by two-and-a-half lengths. It was a first success for the Fermoy handler since the same mare won a hurdle at Wexford exactly a year ago. No Memory had most recently been the subject of a controversial 'non trier' ban at Listowel last month after staying on to finish third behind French Made when a 100/1 shot in a mares hurdle. O'Brien had originally been fined €2,000, the horse banned for 42 days and rider Ambrose McCurtin for 14 days. That decision was overturned on appeal earlier this month. The trainer wasn't present today and Crosse said afterwards:- "I rode her once previously around Bellewstown when she gave me a good feel and it was only her second start on the flat. "She is a lovely big mare, is good and honest and I was a little bit further back than I'd have liked but she has a good turn of foot in fairness to her. She won well." (Quotes by Tom Weekes)
