The Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden saw the Nathan Crosse-ridden It’s Snowing (15/2) get off the mark on her third start.

Fourth and fifth on her first two outings, the daughter of Kodiac tracked the leaders before coming with her challenge over a furlong out. She was bumped by the leader, Chris’s Rose (15/2) inside the final furlong, but shrugged that off to come home half a length in front of that rival.

The well-backed newcomer Rhea Moon (5/2, from 14s this morning) did good late work to finish third, just ahead of the easy-to-back 6/4 favourite Butterfly Island who was tapped for toe before staying on for fourth.

The result was some compensation for winning trainer Jessica Harrington whose Alpine Star had run very much below-par in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville just minutes earlier.

“We went a good gallop the whole way and I got a lovely toe into the race,” said Crosse.

“She picked up for me when we turned in and she showed a good attitude. She should come on plenty from that and she took a good liking to the all-weather.

“I’m in Willie McCreery’s full-time but he lets me off on a Wednesday to go to Mrs Harrington’s yard. That’s my first winner for her so I’m delighted.”
