Gary Carroll completed a double on the day, and his fifth winner of the weekend at Listowel, when Narmar (15/8) won the five-runner colts and geldings maiden over a mile.
Narrowly beaten on his previous outing at Killarney, the Invincible Spirit colt was restrained by his rider before improving into second rounding the home turn. In front over a furlong out, he kept on well to account for Livio Milo by a length and a half.
Henry de Bromhead trains the winner for Anthony Smurfit.
Carroll commented: "It worked out well and Dermot Weld's horse (Livio Milo) ended up taking us along a good gallop and I got thrown out wide and Dylan (Brown McMonagle, on Sea Gardens slipped up the inner and because of that we got racing a bit early. We were trapping along and I was in top gear early in the race.
"Henry said he is a real galloper and a good pace really suited him. He wants all of the mile on nice ground when they go a gallop.
"He parked when he got to the front so cheekpieces might help him and is a horse who could look at a three-year-old-only Premier Handicap."
