Music sinks better fancied rivals With cheek-pieces re-applied, Music On D Waters shed her maiden tag on racecourse outing number twenty one when toughing it out under Conor Maxwell (getting his name off the cold list) by a head and a neck in the Tom McCormack Memorial Cup Mares Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan. Having her fifth outing for Dermot McLoughlin, the four-year-old held the all-important inner berth in the closing stages and that no doubt helped her to fend off the sweet-travelling Some Fiddle (7/2 this morning into 2/1 fav) and Minella Lady (from fancy prices this morning into 13/2) by a head and a neck. McLoughlin trains Music On D Waters for Mrs Anne McDonnell and he said: "I have her four months and she's consistent – she just needs everything to go right for her on the day. "She's tough for a little filly. I don't know what we'll do now – she does like a bit of juice in the ground." (GC & EM)
