Murphy and King combine for memorable Limerick success Oscars Brother (15/8 into 11/10 favourite) emphatically justified the confidence of his many backers in the Mother's Day At Limerick Racecourse Maiden Hurdle. Dan King did the steering for the Mak King Racing Syndicate and Damian Murphy, and the consistent Malinas gelding, second on all four previous appearances in public, extended away approaching the final flight. The Story So Far (6/4 out to 2/1 on track - a market mover earlier) was beaten in fourth when departing two out, and it was left to pace-setter Mickie Angel to chase home Oscars Brother, at a distance of thirteen lengths. The winning jockey's family are involved in the Mak King Racing Syndicate and handler Murphy stated: "I'm delighted for Dan (King) as he was riding out with me since he was 12 and is only a mile down the road in Kilbrin. "The horse loves galloping, stays all day long and I actually think he will be nicer on nicer ground. We didn't think beyond today with him. "I'm mainly into pre-training and do everything. I used to break and do all of Trevor Hemming's horses and unfortunately he is a big loss to me. I'm busy at the moment but unfortunately the summer is coming." (TW & EM)
