Golden Spread saw off all-comers with a powerful front-running performance in the concluding bumper at Thurles this afternoon.
Patrick Mullins was to the fore throughout on the Duke Of Marmalade gelding and he responded well when pressed from two furlongs out.
The 11/4 shot asserted over a furlong from home and galloped on strongly in the closing stage to post a threes length success.
He has been placed on his first two starts, chasing home the impressive Andy Dufresne on his most recent outing at Down Royal in January.
It was a double on the day for Willie Mullins following the earlier victory of Cash Back
The winning rider said:- "He missed a bit of time after his Galway run and I think he improved a lot fitness wise and mentally between Down Royal and here.
“He was beaten by a very good horse there and the third horse has also come out and won since.
"He is very laid-back and he could go out in trip no problem and I think they'll (Supreme Horse Racing Club) have plenty more photographs taken."
There was drama up the back straight in the race with Noel Meade's well-backed newcomer Rigour (11/8f) pulling up injured and Sneaky Getaway unshipping Ruth Dudfield. Luckily she was unscathed.
