The Numbersixvalverde combination of Martin Brassil and Niall 'Slippers' Madden teamed-up in the opening Kilberry Maiden Hurdle and they landed a real good punt with Moville (14/1 in the morning into 9/4 favourite).
As a son of Alhaarth it was always likely that this ex-Barry Hills-trained four-year-old would relish the testing conditions and those that invested were always on good terms with themselves.
Madden came there full of horse on the outside in the straight and when he pressed the button at the last, the response didn't disappoint as the Michael Hayes-owned gelding went away to beat Geestring by three and a half lengths.
Brassil explained: "The horse was bought in Newmarket at the horses in training sale (15,000 guineas). Hopefully he can improve from that and he may go for a winners race at Fairyhouse."
Successful owner Michael Hayes is a dairy farmer from Galway and he is a brother of the famed-hurler, Conor.
Meanwhile for Madden this was a great bounce back from a nasty fall he got from Big Bess at Thurles on Thursday. (EM)
