Mother Earth powers to an easy success under Wayne Lordan© Photo Healy Racing
Mother Earth (10/11f) made the breakthrough on her third start, as she ran out an easy winner of the Group 3 Coolmore Stud Irish EBF Fillies' Sprint Stakes.
Second to the exciting Frenetic on debut, the Aidan O'Brien trained victor since finished third in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, but met with trouble in running on that occasion.
Drawn on the outside this afternoon, the Zoffany bay was soon settled in a close second and was nudged to the front under two furlongs out.
She soon asserted when ridden, going on to record an easy four length success under Wayne Lordan. Sussex Garden (3/1), who held a narrow lead in the early stages, finished second under Shane Foley for Jessica Harrington, while Give Her A Squeeze was third.
Lordan said afterwards: "She's a smashing filly and her form was good enough to win. I travelled easy and she's a filly that’s going to stay further so I was happy to go forward.
"When I got there she probably thought she'd done enough. The ground is slower than I thought it was, it's soft ground. She's a smart filly.
"Aidan doesn't tie you down to instructions and I didn't mind if I was getting a lead or doing it myself. I was happy to get a bit of company until halfway and before the two (furlong pole) I said I'd start going forward as she's a filly that will stay well."
