Grand National winning trainer Mouse Morris was on the mark in the Ferrybank Opel Beginners Chase at Wexford today winning with Carole Rose which was shedding her maiden tag, under jockey Mark Enright.
The daughter of Mahler had been unsuccessful in six previous outings but did finish second on her previous start, and chase debut at Down Royal in May. Today she stayed on strongly in the home straight for a six lengths win over Teds Island
Morris later commented “I’ll try and find a three mile race for her now - she wants three miles, even though she won well over two and a half today. I'll have to look and find a race for her somewhere, maybe a mares race."
“She was bred by her owner Sean O'Driscoll and he still has the mare at home.”
O’Driscoll, from Cork, is president and former CEO of Glen Dimplex.
