More joy for Mullins - in the saddle Patrick Mullins who did the needful for his holidaying uncle Tom, after Grand Partner's win earlier under Paul Townend, took to the saddle himself as his father Willie's Run Fly Run landed the odds in the concluding Ballinrobe Golf Club Flat Race. Mullins took the time in between to get a run around the track in, and the record breaking amateur didn't need to be at his most forceful to get the Supreme Horse Racing Club owned Run Fly Run home by two lengths from the promising newcomer Call Me Pj. Patrick reported: "She's just a slow learner but she's improved with every run. Today was the first day that she actually carried me in a race. "I don't know what the plan is now. The plan was to win a bumper and we thought she'd win one first time out but as I said she's just a slow learner and she's going to improve again. "She won with a little bit in hand I thought." Thankfully Steven Crawford and Haveinosay were okay after a nasty spill down the back straight. (DM & EM)
