Monksgrange treble for Bowe & O'Neill

Colin Bowe & Barry 'Bon' O'Neill combined to record a treble at their local point-to-point at Monksgrange, Rathnure, Co Wexford yesterday afternoon.

The duo recorded their first winner with newcomer Wilton Milan who ran out an impressive ten length winner of the second race on the card, division two of the 4yo geldings maiden.

The first race on the card and division one of that 4yo geldings maiden went to the Arthur Moore trained newcomer Talbot Road under Niall Kelly, whose job was made all the easier by the fall of the Colin Bowe trained Clondaw Knight at the penultimate obstacle.

Kashline provided Bowe and O’Neill with their second winner in the third race on the card which was a winners of two contest.

This son of Oscar was recording his second successive victory after winning his maiden at Lingstown in early December before that he had two other runs where he finished second and fifth respectively.

The pair completed their treble in the last race on the card, the 5 to 7yo's Mares Maiden with Lastchanceforlisa.

The winning daughter of Old Vic, who was having her eighth career start, had to battle for her victory outmuscling the Robert Tyner trained Our Girls Handy to win by three lengths at the line.

Other interesting winners on the card included the Eoin Doyle trained newcomer Davy From Milan who took division one of the 5yo geldings maiden under Pat Collins by three lengths while the Willie Murphy trained Missing the Babe, in the colours of Burnt Oil Babe, just got up to win the 6yo gelding maiden under Sonny Carey.
