Money proves well placed as Pittsford opens account Pittsford continued a good run for the Conyngham Lodge team of Tracey Collins and Michael Halford when justifying strong support in the Bar One Racing ‘Guaranteed Multiples All Shops’ Maiden. The Ulysses gelding, backed on track from 13/2 into 16/5, was prominent throughout and Shane Foley elected to come over to the stand side rail in the straight. Pittsford and the front-running 5/2 favourite Banana Three fought out a protracted battle with Foley’s mount just proving the stronger in the closing stages to score by a head. Apercu was just half-a-length back in third. Halford said, "He's a big horse with a load of ability and he has just been a very slow developer. "You can see by the height of him, he was weak. He was a bit generous then as well, he was always trying to please you and just overrace a little bit. "That was lovely now tonight, he has come on nicely from the last night. He had to step up to get by Andy(Oliver)'s horse (Apercu). "He's a horse that it is all ahead of him. We've had to be patient with him, he's a work in progress. He's just starting to get it together now and he'll go further in time. "He's a big boy, but he's not the finished deal yet. When he does get it together, he will be a lovely horse."
