Ohmyviette stepped forward from two previous outings at Dundalk when justifying strong support in the opening Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.

The Willie Browne-trained gelding, available at 15/2 earlier in the day and supported on track from 9/2 into 11/4, broke slowly and was held up in rear by Manoel Marques Dos Santos.

The Sioux Nation juvenile made headway towards the far side a furlong out and despite hanging badly right, kept on well to beat 6/4 favourite Sharkii by half a length. Hello Luna kept on finishing a further length and a half back in third.

Browne said: "A good first run, and he didn't settle at all the second day and he ran out of gas. When we got him back, he seemed to have some kind of mouth ulcer and we treated that.

"In fairness, he dropped him in today. He hung a bit right at the end but finished out well. He's a big, good-looking horse and is only going to get better.

"It was probably a bit of a poor race, but he has a bit of an engine for sure.

"I'd say he won't run for a couple of months, he's very big and I'd imagine a little bit of a break would suit him. We'll see what the owner (Leidiana Marques) thinks."
